Hebrew School Director / Judaics Teacher
Devorah Ouzzan began her teaching career as an Early Childhood teacher in Toronto, Canada. She has called Houston home since 2013 and has found her passion working as a Judaic studies teacher for elementary grades in YTE. She has over eight years experience in Jewish education. Devorah also runs the CBR Youth division of Congregation Beth Rambam where she is in charge of all the holiday and Shabbat youth programing and CBR youth events. She is the director of YTE’s camp Ruach, a summer day camp here in Houston. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Development Studies from Waterloo University and has taken many professional development courses and classes in education. Devorah is married to Rabbi Johnny Ouzzan and is a proud mother of four incredible children.
Mrs. Limor Carasso
Mrs. Carasso is the lead Hebrew teacher at BYDS for the past 4 years. She has been teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. She is very excited to join the Beth Rambam RC. She holds a Bachlor in Special Education and a teaching certificate from Israel and TX as well as an MBA from Peres Academic Center.
Mrs. Carasso has more than 25 years of teaching experience with students of all ages (Pre-K through High School) and all subjects. She taught Hebrew in many schools (public and private) in Houston, Austin (she was the senior Hebrew teacher) and San Antonio (Hebrew supervisor). She also taught in Languages school adults in San Antonio. In Israel, she worked with special educations students in grades 5th-9th and was one of the founders of a special education center at Merhavim High School (Merhavim, Israel).
She is a proud mom of twin girls, loves nature, hiking, art and smiles.
